| LA Noire, for those who don't know, is the latest from Rockstar, they of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption fame. While you can see how they got here, this also has a lot in common with Heavy Rain. In a sense, it's a playable movie. And your actions matter.
You are a police detective in post World War II LA. The main story revolves around you solving murders. THis means walking around locations to find evidence, and interogating suspects. When you question suspects, you can believe them, doubt them, or accuse them of lying (but you better have evidence if you do).
I like it. It's simple but difficult, plays like watching a movie but you have real choices to make (like who to charge for a murder, and so missed evidence can make a big difference).
For those who watch a decent amount of movies and TV, you'll recognize a lot of actors here, too. Not by name, as a rule, but a lot of faces. Almost anyone who talks is a recognizable actor. | |
