Need some computer help

Guys can anyone help me with this.....this may have a simple answer but I just don't know it.

I just transferred an old VHS tape onto a DVD. Now I want to download the DVD to my computer so I can edit it and then burn the final copy onto another DVD.

How exactly do I do this.

Martin will probably be the man to answer this one for you but I do know that on some computers you can drag and drop it. One problem that you may have is with the permissions that were placed on the dvd when you created it. If they weren't set to make it able to copy, I don't think you can transfer it to the computer. And you have reached the extent of my computer knowledge.

right click on the dvd once it pops up on 'my computer' and select explore. that should open a new window which shows a few files. right click on each to see which one is the largest. that will be the actual video. click and drag that to your hard drive. you might need to download a new player to view it. just search for whatever type of file it is (.mkv, .vob, etc) and player in google.

or rip the DVD to your harddrive with a DVD ripper software like DVD Shrink. it's free.
