--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Introduction
This guide was compiled to help those who are wondering how Multiplayer will work in Call of Duty: World at War developed by Treyarch Studios.
As most of you know, Call of Duty: World at War is dealt during WW2 in the Pacific region. With that said, Treyarch Studios decided to use the game engine used in COD4 and the multiplayer for the most part is the same, but some difference really changes how you view the two.
Online MP for COD:WAW has a rank system similar to COD4, but somethings have been tweaked. It now seems that it takes longer to upgrade your rank from one to another. Initially you are Ranked 1 and it takes a little bit longer to rank to 2 compared to COD4 ranking system. However, you rank changes when you gain more experience points from getting kills and winning matches, like in COD4.
MP Challenges are back and extremely similar to COD4 challenges. You'll see a lot of the same challenges in COD:WAW. The Challenges consist of getting a certain number of kills, headshots, grenade kills, or unusual deaths and so on. Completing Challenges rewards XP and may unlock weapon attachments or camo.
2. Classes
Default Classes: Bolt Action Rifles (Snipers) Rifles SMGs Shotguns Machine Guns
Custom Classes:
Like in COD4 you can create classes unique to yourself using all the guns, perks, and attachments you've unlocked. You can now have 10 Custom Classes, but are decided by your prestige. 1st Level Prestige= 6 Custom Classes 2nd Level Prestige= 7 Custom Classes 4th Level Prestige= 8 Custom Classes 7th Level Prestige= 9 Custom Classes 10th Level Prestige= 10 Custom Classes

Castle - A Level in a Japanese Terroritory. 2 main areas on this map are the Inside and Outside, much consists of the Outside. Outside there's trees, walls, water, and corners to hind behind. Great for Sniping because of the Indoor Towers. There 2 main towers on the same side of the map. There is also a Stone Tower where you can sit by a Stone Window and snipe entirely across the map.
Makin - A Level set in the Jungles of Pacific Japanese Terroritories. It's dark and much of the Jungle has been swept away and is just left with Docks and a swampy river. Great from Close Combat.
Downfall - A Level set in a City destroyed from intense warfare. Trees are burning, Buildings are grounded, and underground tunnels are everywhere.
Cliffside - A Level inside a Japanese Terroritory Jungle. There are several bushes and trees everywhere. There are many hills and bunkers spread across the map for easy cover and sniping.

| Just remember that this list is not everything in the game, just the confirmed info (See note under #6.) The War mode looks like HQ, you are just capturing 5 points instead of 1 from the vid I saw somewhere. | |

| Yea the War looks good, it looks like both teams start on 0 and its the 1st to 5 so if you capture the first 2 flags then they capture 3 they will be +1 and so on until time expires or a teams manages to get to +5. Could be interesting. | |
